ARC West Midlands is one of 15 ARCs nationwide to have been awarded £260,000 to grow social care research capacity in the region.
This funding will support a two-year programme of work to encourage and support more research engagement with social care. This will build on our extensive work already being carried out in the region with various partners.
NIHR ARC WM has been awarded funding to offer Pre-Application Support Funding in our region. This fund allows individuals keen to develop their career in health and care research to protect their time, undertake relevant training and gain additional support to develop a competitive application for a future NIHR personal fellowship.
Applications must be received by 5pm, 4 Dec 2024.

Researchers at the University of Birmingham have recently developed and released the REP-EQUITY toolkit, which aims to guide representative and equitable inclusion in clinical research.
As part of our work during Black History Month, ARC West Midlands, together with NIHR Birmingham Biomedical Research Centre, NIHR/Wellcome Trust Birmingham Clinical Research Facility, and NIHR Midlands Patient Safety Research Collaboration, hosted a community outreach event on 31 October.
